This coastal-inspired Island House Wedding was full of DIY decor and thoughtful details. The summer heat was in full swing, but so were the good times.
Coastal Inspired Island House Wedding
We started the day with details and getting ready photos. Sam and her girls looked so beautiful in their matching blue and white robes, so we made sure to document the moment with portraits and champagne!
Heath’s getting-ready room had the same colorful energy, and the playing card wallpaper was so cool. Their entire wedding party was so fun to be with, and I loved how excited they all were about wedding party photos after the first look.
The First Look
While I never want to pressure a bride and groom into a first look, it can be such a special addition to your wedding day. It’s such a sweet opportunity to share a private moment before the day’s festivities. It’s also a fantastic way to knock out most of your portraits before the wedding so you can spend more of the day together.
While long summer days usually leave plenty of daylight in our photography timeline, a first look might be a great option if you’re considering a Fall or Winter wedding.
The Island House was such a stunning venue, and I’m still blown away by Sam and Heath’s choice of first look locations. The giant oak trees made the perfect canopy for them to share a special moment before their ceremony. It was so beautiful, and these images are some of my favorites from the wedding day.
DIY Details
Sam and Heath love a good project. So many of the details of their day were the product of hard work, creativity, and TLC. They ensured every detail was an added touch of their personality and flair. They two built so much of their decor, including a giant photo backdrop, their custom cornhole boards, and the Owen sign to show off their newly shared last name.
Haley Maree Weddings was such a rock on this sweltering summer day. Besides my amazing couples, nothing makes me more grateful on a wedding day than having a solid team. I’m so thankful for all the fantastic vendors that made this day so special for Sam and Heath.
