Laura
I truly began capturing images ever since I was old enough to hold a camera. While it may have been a disposable camera at the time, my love for photography started at a young age. Fortunately as an adult, my family believed in me enough and bought me my first DSLR camera...and the rest is history.
I believe that this life and everything in it, no matter the circumstances, is beautiful. Our time here on earth is so brief and our moments with our loved ones are never long enough. Whenever I pick up my camera, I strive to create images that tell a story and showcase the beauty of life, no matter the season.
I believe in deep conversations and meaningful relationships. In getting to know people beyond what others may see. I believe in asking more than just "how's your day?" I believe in heart-to-hearts over coffee. I believe in capturing and preserving the moments that you never want to forget - the moments that are worth remembering forever.
My mission is to provide my clients with images that will last a lifetime. Images they will show their grandkids one day.
I was born and raised in Aiken, South Carolina but have since settled down with my husband Matt, daughter Anne Thomas and golden retrievers Brinkley and Scout, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Our family is constantly on-the-go which has only fueled my love for photography even more. With our busy schedules, we are learning a thing or two about being present in each moment. Even though we fail many times at this, we try be all-in wherever we may be.

“Laura is the best! She does everything to make you feel comfortable on your special day! Even the groomsmen were commenting on how fun and easy she was to work with. Cannot recommend her enough.”

Nothing brings me more joy than a celebration and I believe there's always a reason to celebrate. Throw in a few friends + some specialty cheeses and you have the ingredients for a perfect day.

I love a good party whether it's a yearly New Year's Eve party or a small dinner. Using my creativity to come up with a fun theme and coordinated decor to spend time with my closest friends - sign me up!

If I'm not photographing a wedding, chances are I'm on the hunt for vintage finds either for our own home or my antique booth. I have an affinity for bamboo, cane and basically all of the things your grandmother owns.

The first time I met Matt, it was in a bar. The most unlikely place I ever imagined meeting my future husband and yet fifteen months after the day we met, we were standing together at the altar saying "I do."
I had never met someone so sure of themselves and with so much ambition. His outlook on life mixed with his belief in me eventually propelled me towards my newest and greatest venture yet - launching Annie Laura Photo.
With our recent wedding not far behind us, I wanted something a little bit different for my business. I wanted to serve people. From the beginning, I wanted to understand that it wasn't about me and that while I am the artist, the story is yours.
