Whenever a bride asks if she can bring her dog along to her bridal session, the answer is always OF COURSE. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever been more jealous of a client before. I wanted to go home, put back on my wedding gown, grab the pups and have someone take pictures of me! So thankful Emily brought along her pup but also look at what a stunner she is. She was also a trooper trekking all over the State House grounds in her gown on an unseasonably warm day in the Fall.

So excited I am getting around to catching up on blogs because of sessions like this from the Fall. Alison and Taylor got married back in November but here are a few of her bridals. Honestly, she is SO incredibly stunning from head to toe. The lighting was also GORGEOUS at 1912 Bed and Breakfast that afternoon. You can’t beat pictures beneath oak trees!

In honor of these two getting married this weekend, I wanted to finally share their engagement session. I met Donna and Aaron at The Big Fake Wedding in Charleston back in April. At the time, they went to the event because they knew the couple who was doing the vow renewal however they weren’t yet engaged. Whenever Donna reached out to me after their engagement, I was so excited to get to know these two. Also, can we all agree they are models?

I owe all of the appreciation in the world to Emily Solberg Photography for these images and for capturing this wedding. Shortly after I found out I was pregnant, due in December, I reached out to Emily to see if she would be willing to capture the Riles’ wedding for me since I would be 38 weeks pregnant. She graciously said YES and I am so glad she did! The images are completely stunning for a pretty incredible couple.
I hate I missed the big day but I did have the privilege of getting to capture Christen and Shane’s engagement pictures – and let me tell you, these two are more than perfect for each other. Shane is always going above and beyond to surprise Christen. At their engagement session, he made surprise reservations after the session since she was already dressed up. On their wedding day, he surprised her by bringing their dogs to the venue for a few pictures. What a pleasure it was to be involved in even just a small portion of the Riles’ story! Thank you both for trusting me and Emily to capture and edit your big day!

Whenever I met with both Alison and her mother for our final meeting, we reviewed all of the details to come for Alison and Taylor’s wedding. I didn’t anticipate just how many family heirlooms would be involved in the big day – from Alison’s grandmother’s Bible to her mother’s pearls. Essentially every detail involved was a family piece. On top of that, Alison’s grandmother, Gladys, made her stunning white cake. What a sweet day it was celebrating Mr and Mrs Brunson!

Emily and Alex’s big day took place at The Farm at Ridgeway. It was a gorgeous day and filled with lots of special details. Emily gifted Alex ornaments for their first Christmas as a married couple. Alex wrote vows specifically to Emily’s children – an emotional moment to witness for anyone. Emily’s daughter was their flower girl and her son carried her veil as Emily walked down the aisle. Each and every detail was so family-oriented and sentimental. It was such a meaningful day to celebrate and I’m so happy they allowed me to be a part of it!

These pictures make me so happy for so many reasons! The colors, Rainbow Row, the puppies, the dock, the smiles. I loved every bit of this session. Something about Charleston in the Fall is so amazing. We started out at Waterfront Park in downtown Charleston, SC by the fountain at sunrise. We moved down to Rainbow Row where Linlee and Jeff’s pups tagged along. After that we decided to take a few pictures on the cobblestone streets. Just as we were about to head home, we decided to snap a few more pictures by the water and I am SO glad we did. These are some of my favorite images of 2019.

Fun fact of the day.. I’ve known Katie since I was 5 years old. We tell everyone we meet this but we went through 5 graduations together, all the way from kindergarten to college. She decided to go to law school after college and I was not about that life…but go her. While at law school, she met Nick. I joke with Katie that she was always “teacher’s pet” growing up, which always made me jealous but in so many ways, it’s because she’s so incredibly lovable. You can’t help but to get to know her so it’s no wonder that Nick quickly fell in love with her after spending some time together at the Charleston School of Law. And it didn’t take long for everyone, including myself, to fall in love with Nick after the two of them started dating.

Whenever Natalie reached out about pictures, she suggested we take pictures in the location that Trey proposed. He proposed after a race they both had – which PS…both of these two are really into health and fitness! Talk about a power couple. The location just happened to be the perfect spot for pictures. We finished the session with a few more pictures along Main Street in Downtown Columbia, along with a few pictures in front of the State House before heading over to the Riverfront Park.

I’ve known both Todd and April for over 10 years. These two dated a long time ago and took a break for a few years. Fortunately, they found their way back to each other. In fact, whenever they were newly back together, I asked Todd if I would be invited to the wedding AND about a year later, here we are! For their engagement session, Todd and April chose Sage Valley – which is the best scenery in Aiken, btw. April also had the awesome idea to bring along some wine for a “cheers”.
