I shared this as a guide on my Instagram this week (which PS…have you seen these around insta yet? They are amazing), but figured I’d also write a blog post as well! Prior to a wedding day, I meet with all of my clients to go over the wedding day questionnaire and final timeline. During this process I write down any mention of “must-have” photos from the client. I love hearing my client’s share what is the most important thing to them on their wedding day. This meeting allows for me to sit down and connect with my clients before the wedding day – to discuss expectations, chat about current stressors, go over any final details.
SO I want to share with you all a few of my absolute FAVORITE must-haves that I personally add to my shot list – aside from the client’s must-have list!
NUMBER ONE: VEIL PICTURES
There’s a reason I LOVE veil photos. The airy and delicate fabric catches light in the best way. The material also allows for the veil to float in the air for some pretty incredible photos.
NUMBER TWO: FIRST LOOK WITH FATHER
I’ve witnessed some pretty incredible father/daughter first looks so these are quickly becoming some of my favorite moments to capture. Some brides also want to share this moment with their siblings as well. Either way – I love capturing the emotion and surprise!
NUMBER THREE: BRIDE ROBE PICTURES
Many brides wear robes or pajamas to get ready for their wedding day. While I love capturing those candid moments with their bridesmaids, I love to capture a few posed pictures of the bride in her robe with a few of her wedding day details before she gets in her gown.
NUMBER FOUR: SUNSET PICTURES
I can’t promote this enough… break away for sunset pictures on your wedding day. You won’t regret it! You’re investing a lot of money in your wedding day and chances are, you will look back on the bride + groom photos the most.
NUMBER FIVE: PET PICTURES
Either during bridals or your wedding day, snap a few pictures with your pets! Have a friend bring your dog or cat for a few pictures and you’ve got a recipe for photos you’ll treasure forever. We truly don’t deserve pets and they are members of the family, too!
NUMBER SIX: GROOM’S REACTION
One of my favorite parts of any wedding day. Grooms wait all day to see their bride, many times. Once the music starts playing, the bride begins walking down the aisle and the groom catches the first glimpse of his bride – that’s the shot I want to nail. That’s the moment I want to capture for my couples to cherish forever.
NUMBER SEVEN: MIRROR PICTURES
I love this perspective so much. The bride putting on any finishing touches – a necklace, earring or some lipstick. Those final details to complete her wedding day look!
